Look what we have here! A slide that seems to be from some internal meeting at T-Mobile showing off what is essentially the carrier’s internal roadmap of what handsets they will offer through the first quarter of 2010. Do you notice something?
Yeah, me too. It’s a really boringly done slide. Someone should teach them about putting some excitement into PowerPoint presentations. However, the content of the slide kinda makes up for its drab nature. I seem to spy three really interesting phones that are coming up next month.

So hey, how about that eh? Apple finally released that slate thing of theirs. Yeah, I know, I know — iPad — whoever came up with that name! But hey, 3 months from now, you will forget about how bad that name is just like you don’t really care that the iPod is all that good a name either. But you have questions, oh yes you do! So many that you are bothered to ask them all to one person and too lazy to find out on your own. Well, consider your prayers answered because this here is an iPad FAQ! Yep, all your iPad questions answered in one single place, single post, etc.! enjoy!

If you have chosen to buy a locked Nexus One Android phone from a carrier like T-Mobile, you are in for some hard time if you cancel prior to “120 days of continuous wireless service”. If you cancel before 4 months from the date of activation (presumably) you are going have to pay cancellation fees. And those fees are pretty hefty too. You will have to pay up the difference between the price you paid for your subsidized unit and the full retail price of the unlocked and unsubsidized Nexus One. That means if you have bought it for $179, you will end up paying $350 as cancellation. So far so fair but it gets worse.

The smart phone market is going through tremendous excitement and development in the last quarter of 2009. The android mania has hit the majority of Cellphone makers. The Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris are already making waves in the USA. Samsung, which is the second largest mobile maker in the world has also unveiled its latest smart phones to join the Android bandwagon. The latest Android model unveiled by Samsung is Behold II. Samsung has tied up with T-Mobile for selling this phone and its estimated price is $230 including a two year contract.

It is Monday again, which means blink-and-you-miss Sunday is over already. Back in the world of tech, things have been really busy. Just after a big week full of Apple products and (glowing) Apple financial reports, the rumors are back again. Plus, Samsung has quietly launched their second Android phone in Russia (of all places). This time I have some iPhone apps to talk about as well.
Get over to the other side and start catching up.

Here at Otaku Gadgets, we are pretty grateful about the new trend in cell phones. With the iPhone and Android fighting it out and the others squatting on the sidelines, you have to admit that this is an interesting time to be using and buying cell phones in. However, in the face of all that improvement in the mobile OS arena, Microsoft is still lagging behind. If Steve Ballmer can publicly wish that they could skip 6.5 and go straight on to Windows Mobile 7, I think I am justified in saying that we feel something similar.
But that is only a passing thought before we dive in to the madness of it all. BlackBerry is struggling to catch up it seems and Palm is probably resting after the Pre and App Catalogue updates. Get to the other side for this week’s round up.

There was a time, not too long ago, when smartphones meant bulky phones with QWERTY keypads, clumsy UI, limited features and sky-high price tags. Not much has changed on the price tag side but the bulk is considerably lower now and the various UIs on the market are going from great to greater. Plus the features have pretty much hit the other side of limited in this category. So I thought it right to start a weekly section that cuts through all the noise and brings you the main stories that you need to hear.
