The talks of a Blackberry tablet coming from RIM have been roaming around the industry for quite some time now. But no one has much of an idea about what it is called. But now, new rumors suggest that Blackberry might have a name as flinch-worthy as — Blackpad! Yes, the rumors suggest that RIM will actually go forward with this gem of a name. Actually, this name has already been mentioned in this context. But at that point, everyone assumed that this was suggest an internal code name for the device. Not the name it will be branded under.

During the Q&A session at the special Apple press conference that was held to talk about the iPhone 4 antenna issue, Steve Jobs let slip something very interesting. When someone from the said that he cannot replicate the death grip at the conference hall, Steve replied that they had very strong signal there. He then added that they had both AT&T and Verizon cells on the campus. More on the other side.

Google’s Chrome OS Might Be Coming Through Acer At Computex This Year

Looks like Acer might actually pull off what they set out to do in the first place with Google’s Chrome OS. They wanted to be the first out the gate and if the reports are true, they are actually going to make it. And the moment of revelation will come soon because word is that they are going to unveil their Chrome OS product at this year’s Computex, which will start with the start of the next month.

Verizon CDMA iPhone Rumors Stand Ground Despite Revelation Of Apple’s 5-Year Contract With AT&T

Ever since the first iPhone was launched and the AT&T exclusivity deal was struck in the US in 2007, people have wanted to know the details of this confidential contract. As it turns out, the secret is out and the duration seems to be an astounding five years. This claim is supported by old court documents related with the contract. But if that is true, then all the rumors about the Verizon CDMA iPhone coming this fall must be false. And there’s another bind to this — Apple seems to have submitted a brief in 2008 that cites an USA Today article from March 23 2008 which also says that Apple has a 5-year contract.

Nokia Is Talking The Tablet Talk

But the question is will they be able to walk the walk? Tablets have been around for about a decade now and still, the iPad is the first ever fully successful attempt at making a tablet that everyone can use. Ironically, the company who really wanted to make the tablet a success is not the one who made the most successful tablet till date — it’s rival is. But when talking about these two giants (Microsoft & Apple), people tend to forget the other companies who have been making tablets in their own unique way. Nokia used to one of those companies but now it is nowhere to be found in this scene.

Video Claims To Show iPhone HD Display+Bezel

Here’s a video that shows an iPhone like bezel and display and claims those to be of the next iPhone. So according to the video,  it will have HD display and front-facing camera. At least the little hole beside the earpiece slit on the bezel suggests that a small sensor will be placed there and it might as well be a camera sensor because that is the best position for a camera to be in both portrait and landscape modes.

iPhone 4.0 Might Be iPhone HD, Thanks To 5MP Camera

Of the many things that the new iPhone is expected to have, improved camera and display are two of the most sought after features. And at least one of them has sort of been confirmed by OmniVision. Their executives today hinted at having deals with Apple for new camera sensors for the iPhone and the iPad and talked to JP Morgan analyst Paul Coster about it.

HTC’s Supersonic WiMAX Phone Coming Next Week?

CTIA is coming up and that means a slew of new gadgets are about to come out. And if the rumor mill has to be taken seriously, HTC & Sprint will announce the HTC Supersonic — that one that apparently has WiMAX built in — sometime next week.
