Look what we have here! A slide that seems to be from some internal meeting at T-Mobile showing off what is essentially the carrier’s internal roadmap of what handsets they will offer through the first quarter of 2010. Do you notice something?
Yeah, me too. It’s a really boringly done slide. Someone should teach them about putting some excitement into PowerPoint presentations. However, the content of the slide kinda makes up for its drab nature. I seem to spy three really interesting phones that are coming up next month.

Here we are once again, with a round up of all that is hot in tech in the past few days. A lot has been happening as usual with the year end approaching. The anticipation for the new year is building with so many different companies readying their devices for launches through the first two quarters of 2010. Of course, not all of them are talking about it but the leaks do that work for them, whether they like it or not. So get over to the other side and get updated.

Droid has made the news for a lot of reasons before and after it was launched. People were pretty excited during the rumormongering period and everyone wanted a piece of the action. But the day the Droid finally became publicly available, there was nothing much to write about the crowd that was’nt there (but was expected to be there). So everyone thought that the Droid had not been received too well by consumers. Seems like we spoke to early and that Droid has made a dent after all.

The Motorola droid is finally here, but is it everything that you ever wanted? May be yes and possibly no. While the phone has generally received great reviews with very little held against it, consumers are not showing much interest in the Droid. Verizon did not expect the fanaticism that Apple products inspire but they surely were expecting something more.
The day of the Droid came and went by without any notable incident. There were no reports of crazy long lines or of people getting all excited about it. There was a palpable lack of interest in the device.
So why are people so very cold towards the red-eyed Droid? It might have something to do with the wrong ad campaign launched by Verizon.

The past few years have been quite troublesome for US based mobile giant Motorola. After tasting success with its stylish MotoRazr series of mobiles the company failed to develop a worthy successor. Meanwhile the world was overtaken by the iPhone and Touch screen mania. However, the company has changed strategy and it is all set to reclaim its place in the industry with its futuristic Android based smart phones. Apart from its Droid, which is being marketed as an iPhone Competitor, Motorola is also pinning its hope on Cliq, a phone meant for social networking addicted and technology loving consumers.

Here at Otaku Gadgets, we are pretty grateful about the new trend in cell phones. With the iPhone and Android fighting it out and the others squatting on the sidelines, you have to admit that this is an interesting time to be using and buying cell phones in. However, in the face of all that improvement in the mobile OS arena, Microsoft is still lagging behind. If Steve Ballmer can publicly wish that they could skip 6.5 and go straight on to Windows Mobile 7, I think I am justified in saying that we feel something similar.
But that is only a passing thought before we dive in to the madness of it all. BlackBerry is struggling to catch up it seems and Palm is probably resting after the Pre and App Catalogue updates. Get to the other side for this week’s round up.
