The Nokia N900 is Nokia’s answer to the whole new-age smartphone trend that has completely changed the way we look at smartphones. This is of course thanks to Apple and their iPhone but instead of using iPhone number one rival Android or their all time favorite Symbian, Nokia chose to go to another mobile Linux OS called Maemo. So the N900 runs Maemo5 and has nifty features that look really cool. But as everyone knows by now — its not the platform or the hardware that makes or breaks today’s smartphones. It is the third-party ecosystem that really decides the fates of such devices. The N900 has been lagging behind in that exact area until now.

MSI simply cannot stay away from the hot market that eBooks are a part of right now. So they are coming in strong with the NVIDIA Tegra powering the way. The chairman of the company (Joseph Hsu) let announced that MSI is indeed working on a Tegra-based device. Details are scanty as nothing else has been revealed. As everyone waits for the Éclair release of the Android OS (Éclair is the codename for version 2.0), the web is rife with talks of even more new Android phones and devices. A lot of things have changed since I reported about it the last time. When I say a lot of things have changed, what I really mean is that the lovable green robot has gotten itself another smattering of delectable new phones and devices. I am slavering just by looking at the array. Could it be, that this loyal Apple fan is actually considering something other than an iPhone? Oh, how the world has changed!
Anyway, a little competition is always good for companies like Apple. ‘Don’t let ‘em get too complacent’ is what I always say. But we, the users, have it the best actually. Companies are tripping over each other to bring out the best just for us!
Anyway, the latest on the Android awaits you on the other side.

HTC is really stepping it up these days. After several long weeks of speculations, rumors, spy shots and general gossip, the company has finally made the HTC Leo official. Only, it is not called the Leo, it is called the HD2. The HD2 is a large phone and I rather like it for that. This actually more MID and less smarthphone once you take a close look at it.
But there is this one thing that everyone is really ga-ga over — a 4.3inch capacitive touchscreen. I have been watching the hands on videos (find one on the other side) and it looks mighty decent. The responsiveness is quite good with 9 out of 10 touches doing what the user intended to do. That 1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor sure is working its charms on the phone.
And just as you thought you would settle down and read all about the Leo, there is a new animal on the block and it’s a fantastic beast this time round. I am talking about the rumored Dragon, another device that looks like it will be powered by the Snapdragon. Continue to the other side for details.
