The HTC Touch Diamond2

htc-touch-diamond2 upright call interfaceHTC has recently released the new HTC Touch Diamond2 in Europe and so far the feedback has been positive. So as we wait for the phone to travel across the pond, here’s what I see in the new upgraded Touch Diamond.

First off all, all the reviews available are reviews of the European model and that has a few compatibility issues with US standards. The main problem is in the 3G spectrum because the US 3G bands are different from the European bands. So even though you can already get unlocked phones at online market places, it is better to hold out till HTC releases them in the US. But more than anything else, the touch Diamond2 looks very mature and elegant. It has a clean face done up in brushed aluminum and the back has a smooth plastic battery cover. It loses the soft touch finish battery of the earlier models, which some people preferred for the better grip.

Compared to the original Touch Diamond, the Touch Diamond2 is slightly larger, even though it is smaller than the other major smartphones in the market. It measures a nice 4.25 inches x 2.09 inches x 0.54 inches and weighs about 4.15 ounces. That makes it slim enough to be comfortably used and carried around on a daily basis.
