Viliv has been one of those companies who have been consistently bringing out tablet devices. Sadly, they have also been a company who have been consistently bringing out mostly mediocre tablet devices to the market. They have been pretty dedicated to the cause since much before this whole tablet craze hit but their products have failed to inspire much excitement in consumers. But just like with smartphone makers, that is set to change now that they are using Android. And the Viliv X10 might be their best work so far.

Even though it has not been released yet and there isn’t really a firm release date on the horizon, it seems like Jetway is soon to become one of the first companies to adopt and use Intel’s two new Atom chips — the Atom D525 and the Atom D425 Both of these chips are targeted at desktop use and have compatibility for newer standards like DDR3.

Okay, so sometime back, a suspicious looking iPhone was found on the floor of a bar (Gourmet Haus Staudt) in Redwood City, Calif. It wasn’t any of the iPhones that are in the market right now and it was actually inside a case to make it look like an iPhone 3GS. So what was it? Well, it was most definitely an engineering sample of the next iPhone that is supposed to be called iPhone HD. We are still calling it the iPhone 4G though.

Here’s a video that shows an iPhone like bezel and display and claims those to be of the next iPhone. So according to the video, it will have HD display and front-facing camera. At least the little hole beside the earpiece slit on the bezel suggests that a small sensor will be placed there and it might as well be a camera sensor because that is the best position for a camera to be in both portrait and landscape modes.

Well, well, well. What do we have here? If it isn’t a mention of a Zune HD 64 on the official website. This has to be a mistake of some kind but since it is on the official page (or was, at least), this has to be have some kind of truth behind. It is not impossible that Microsoft is planning to launch a new 64GB of the Zune HD. It has already been a while since the Zune HD was launched and now, before it gets an upgrade, it is the perfect time to add a little bit extra to the line up to keep the interest going.

Lenovo has updates its notebook offerings with two new G series models — the G445 and the G555. These models are imbued with the powers of the latest products from the house of AMD. That of course means that they are pretty fast and well equipped. There isn’t much known about them yet, as Lenovo did not mention much in the press release that it sent out. But as is usual with these things, the press release has enough to tantalize us.

The president of Nintendo has yet again denied the existence of an HD version of Nintendo’s popular gaming console – the Wii. He made it pretty clear that there was no Wii HD in the making. But the wording was interesting, especially when you read it and not hear it – “I don’t know how forcefully we can say there is no Wii HD”. The sheer logic in favor of making an HD version of the console is too much to overlook.

… it is the only direct competitor in the market. Others are just way too far behind in the race when it comes to competing with Apple. In the past, the Zune has lived in almost anonymity. Brand recognition was terrible (still isn’t all that good) and the iPod simply became the name to describe small, personal media players. Apple practically created this market for others to follow.
The past is past now and having killed every other Zune, Microsoft has put out the singularly greatest Zune ever – the Zune HD. Get to the other side for the meat.

Had this been in the near past, I would’ve laughed at the title too. Since when has Zune been a threat to any personal media player, let alone it being a threat to the iPod? Now however, things have changed. It seems like the new Zune HD might have a fighting chance against Apple.
For example, this time round people at least know that something called the Zune HD is coming. Sure, many won’t ever know that the Zune line existed long before the new Zune HD and that Microsoft has actually killed off all the other Zunes. But now that the Zune HD is shaping up much better than all the other Zunes, Apple may have something to worry about. Jump to the other side for a full feature-by-feature comparison.
