World famous laptop manufacturer, Dell has recently unveiled the new Dell Latitude Z600, a 16 inch laptop. According to Dell, this newest laptop of theirs, i.e., Z600 is the thinnest and the lightest notebook in the world.
The laptop which is seemingly aimed at the “business class” has a 16 inch wide screen that is a lot bigger than its existing competitors which includes “Apple MacBook Pro 15 inch (Dual Graphics)”. This sleek, light and compact and easy-to-carry laptop perfectly fits in for your business presentation.
According to the sources, “Z” actually stands for the “Z-height” which signifies that the “Z600″ will probably be the thinnest in the latitude line. Although the laptop is incredibly thin still the length and width of the system constraints it from being carried via small carrying cases. The 16 inch wide screen which comprises a resolution of 1600 X 900 will surely enthrall you. The Z600 is quite compact and sturdy thereby shooing off all the possible hazards. According to Dell, the entire chassis is manufactured by a stiff magnesium alloy whilst the inner portion is embedded with aluminum metals. A touch pad is provided that supports multi-touch gestures.

The Dell Studio S1440-022B is targeted at school students who are looking for a budget laptop. This new offering from Dell does something quite bold and does away with the optical drive altogether. As a result, the laptop becomes much slimmer and weighs less as well.
14-inch laptops are not known for being very lightweight and while the Dell Studio S1440 does not break any records, it is plenty portable at only 4.7 pounds. To further put things into perspective – 14-inch laptops hardly come under 5 pounds. The S1440 has a very slim and compact design and manages to run for quite sometime. It also has something of an extra in its ports where it features a DisplayPort. It also bundles not trial but full version licensed softwares within the price.
But what is it really like working without an optical drive? Is this laptop a worthy buy? Read on to find out.
