In yesterday’s keynote, Steve Jobs announced the renaming of the iPhone OS 4. They are taking away the phone and simply calling the thing iOS 4. The iOS4 Golden Master was released on the day of the announcement. It carries over 1500 new developer API’s and over 100 new user features. Of course we have already heard about all this at the special iPhone OS 4 event that took place some time back. This WWDC 2010 keynote added some extras to that announcement.

Steve Jobs appeared on News Corp’s D8 conference and answered surprisingly probing questions with relative openness. He talked about burning issues such as flash, app approval, Google’s competition, Siri acquisition, the whole iPhone at the bar incident, AT&T and more. If that topic list doesn’t tell you already, this interview of Steve is definitely one of the most revealing ones of recent times.

Looks like Apple made yet another key acquisition just before April gave way to May. Apple has officially acquired Siri and has officially kept its mouth shut about what the company intends to do with the company. So that leaves us to go through all the possible reasons why Apple did this. And while it may seem like they did it for the obvious reason, i.e. voice, let me begin by tell you that things are never that simple.

And they all love the iPad! Apple must be one happy company at the moment. They chose a few regulars and new reviewers for their new device and the embargo has finally been lifted so that people can start talking about it. Hence, reviews and hands on videos/photos started flooding in since the last day of March. With only one day to go before the thing becomes available in the US, the iPad deluge has officially begun and is here to stay for the weekend. I have following things obsessively as usual. So you can just relax and make your way trough this round up instead of going through all of them!

If there’s one thing the tech community is, it is impatient. Hence the huge industry around leaks, rumors and speculations (and in which this blog does partake sometimes). So with the iPad coming up fast now, there’s a lot to be heard about the device. And for those who can’t wait to get a look at the new iPad App store,
Macstories has been resourceful enough to make a
walkthrough video of the iPad app store.

Happy 2010 everybody! We are entering a new decade and of course it is time to bust out all the lists. This one is about Apple. This is one company that continues to make waves across multiple industries on a fairly regular basis. They have had their duds of course (hello, Apple TV) but their main products have constantly inspired the competition to rethink their plans and catch up. Sometime they just want to copy (Vista) but soon they realize that we are not a lot of 5 year-olds hence really put some effort in (Windows 7). Over all, Apple continues to stay ahead of the pack and make great products. So let’s look at all the great things that Apple has accomplished in the past decade.
