You have to give it to the sprited souls at DigiTimes, they aren’t always on the money but they are getting better at causing leaks and rumors that are more along the believable line. This time I am quite happy to report that they have dug up the details of AMD’s forthcoming Six-Core CPU’s that are to be branded as Phenom II.
Lenovo has updates its notebook offerings with two new G series models — the G445 and the G555. These models are imbued with the powers of the latest products from the house of AMD. That of course means that they are pretty fast and well equipped. There isn’t much known about them yet, as Lenovo did not mention much in the press release that it sent out. But as is usual with these things, the press release has enough to tantalize us.

Asus probably did not have an inkling as to how much their new line of products will affect the industry when they introduced the netbook. Rather, they reintroduced it. The concept was already there and earlier attempts had been made at it. But when Asus introduced it, the time was just right. The technology for it was just emerging and soon it became apparent that the Atom will rule this new segment in the market – netbooks.
Netbooks marked a decisive shift in the market in quite a few significant ways. First of all, computer makers actually started working on smaller and cheaper models instead of bigger and more expensive ones. Besides, the recession had already started making its presence felt, so models like these really made sense. And the greatest impact was where it mattered the most – on the consumers.

The battle between the top two Graphics card makers, AMD and Nvidia became rather interesting in the last few months. Despite several efforts by AMD, its products failed to topple the Nvidia GTX 295, the performance king of GPUs. However, the industry insiders were hopeful about its much hyped Hemlock chip will be able to produce a winner. At last it seems that AMD has come up with a winning product that will give Nvidia a run for its money. It recently announced the availability of the Radeon HD 5970. As of now, it is the fastest graphics card running on a solo GPU. It is among the few GPUs in the market that supports Microsoft’s latest DirectX 11 technology.

9.09.09 was more or less dominated by Apple’s Yerba Buena, SF event and hence, predictably, a lot of things that otherwise would’ve been reported properly got buried under the Macavalanche. You have been playing catch-up with all the new releases and you should be because not everything was revealed at event presentations. There are a lot of small things that you should know about (and things that I will cover in my 5-gen iPod Nano review ). So now that the crazy hype has finally worn off, here are six things that you should know about as an avid Otaku Gadgets reader.

As the soft light of dawn shone brightly on the new line of super cheap, super weak and super portable computers, the shining logo of Intel’s Atom processor on all of them warded off any notion that AMD and VIA stood a chance in the netbook segment.
Sometime late morning, the Gateway LT3103u shows up at the gates of the netbook sanctuary and challenges all Intel Atom based netbooks with its AMD Athlon 64 L110 processor. Can it survive the onslaught of such a well-established processor that has gone unchallenged for so long? Find out on the other side.

AMD is known for its high speed and creative processors and they are gain back with a bang. They continue to provide good range of processors and are biggest competitors of Intel. On 1st June AMD came up and announced two new dual core chips, one the AMD Athlon II X2 250 and second the Phenom II X2 550 Black edition processor which is the faster dual core CPU from AMD peaking to 3.1 Ghz. With Phenon II added to the collection, the dragon platform now boasts of dual, tri and quad core CPU’s. Some people already find the Athlon II X2 250 as the coolest running CPU in a long time if not the best of all times.
When combined with AMD chipsets and integrated graphic solution, the AMD Athlon II X2 250 performs exceptionally well by forming an all AMD platform and giving the best performance. It is found that the platforms featuring all AMD-Technology can deliver double the graphics performance as compared to those with Intel integrated graphics. Windows 7 has been optimized for multi core processors like the AMD Athlon II processors and this helps consumers get an amazingly simple but fast and engaging experience of using their Personal computer. For example the AMD Power now! 3.0, the power management feature, Windows 7 has been tuned to make the most of such new processors’ power management features. OEM’s and partners can now build exceptionally cool, green and quiet PCs by making use of AMD power management technologies along with Windows 7.
