So there was this tablet device called the iTablet much before the Apple tablet rumors reached fever pitch. It was made by Amtek and it has been around for quite some time you see. Now, there’s this company in the UK called X2, who are drawing your attention to something called the iTablet. The connection? It’s the same friggin’ device. Dare we ask for more creativity in the industry?
So while it seemed like they were basically feeding off the iPad frenzy (like every other damned tablet maker at this point) and just reselling the boring old iTablet back to use. The iTablet that is less than ‘average’ and didn’t really inspire anything but a solid ‘meh’ from the reviewers and reporters. But hey, good marketing is good marketing, right?
Well, since this device was pretty low on specs even when it was freshly released and the touchscreen’s responsiveness was questionable at best, it doesn’t seem like a good idea to resell it to this market at this time. However, it seems like X2 has a bit more brain than that. Just a bit more.
They have had a talk with Register Hardware, where they are saying that the processor is 1.6GHz and there will be both 10inch and 12inch versions. What they are not saying is what the make of the chip is or any other details for that matter. But it will be running Windows though, so get your cables and your calming pills ready. This reluctance has led Engadget to believe that they are actually piggybacking on the iTablet whilst they come up with their own tablet and completely agree with them. It does sound like that.
