Hewlett-Packard on Wednesday announced its fastest and first 3D laptop yet, the HP Envy 17 3D. As the name suggests, the HP Envy will make use of a 17.3 inch 3D display capable of playing Blu-Ray 3D movies and high definition video. The laptop runs on a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, the graphics capabilities are powered by AMD’s ATI Radeon HD 5850 graphics card.
The desktop replacement offers 2 Terabytes of storage capacities, and comes with extra hardware for the full cinema and 3D experience, including speakers and subwoofers as well as 3D active shutter glasses which communicate wirelessly with the laptop.
The performance of the laptop indicate that it is not well versed for mobile usage, considering that it is good for about 2 and a half hours of battery life.
The laptop furthermore can be switched between 2D and 3D modes easily. HP aims to offer the laptop during the holiday season with a price tag under $2000.
