RIM To Launch Blackberry Storm 2

The prolonged battle between RIM and Apple in order to take over the phone market has intensified yet again, with RIM announcing the launch of the new version of touchscreen Blackberry Storm 2. The move marks Research In Motion’s latest strategy to battle out its rival, Apple’s iPhone.
According to the sources, the to-be-available smart-phone from RIM i.e Storm 2 will comprise of the same touchscreen interface that was present in original Storm. The smart-phone excels its predecessor regarding certain exquisite features that have been included in this phone. The users now can type a lot faster. Moreover, the new “multitouch” feature that has been included in the phone allows the users to type at multiple parts of the screen, thereby allowing the users to carry out their work a lot more faster than that of its predecessor, Smart.
The RIM co-Chief executive Jim Balsillie exclaimed that the newly launched device is quite a big deal for the company. According to the sources, Storm 2 supports Wi-Fi connectivity. Although details regarding the exact date on which Storm 2 will be launched was not available, it is believed that the phone might be revealed anytime soon.
According to the sources, the move comes soon after Waterloo the Ontario-based RIM has found itself in a stiff competition against its rival, Apple’s iPhone. On the other hand it is known that Apple is expanding its territory in the smart-phone arena, thereby proving to be an eye-sore for RIM who now have to fight for their position as the leading company in the market, a position that had remained untouched for years.
