It seems that smart phones have become a day to day habit, as with every passing day the tech/gadget world is witnessing the introduction of a new phone or the other. Similarly on Wednesday, Research In Motion (RIM) unveiled its latest smart-phone i.e. RIM Blackberry Bold 9700. The release of the newest smart-phone from RIM is billed as a successor to RIM Blackberry Bold 9000. Hereby we will provide you with a hands-on review about the newest gadget on the block.
The Blackberry Bold 9700 seemingly stands out as an upgraded model of its predecessor i.e. Blackberry Bold 9000. If you are on heavy e mailing then you must know the service that Blackberry Bold 9000 used to offer. The latest phone that was unveiled yesterday is only an upgraded version of its predecessor. This sleek device comprises of a 35 key QWERTY keyboard and a Flash memory that is twice more than that of its predecessor. One of the most noticeable changes that we observed is the phone’s size. Blackberry Bold 9700 is smaller and sleeker than that of its predecessor, thus shaping up the phone to be a much lighter one. The 2.44 inch HVGA screen display provides a better visual quality although we believe that if the display screen could have been a tad bigger, then the phone would have shaped up to be a much better one than it is now. Although several new features have been inducted, but still somehow Blackberry 9700 shapes up as an upgraded version of Blackberry Bold 9000.
However having said all this, one of the most noticeable change rather a well planned change is the transition of the trackball navigator to that of touch-sensitive touch-pad. The replacement of trackball navigator is a well planned one as a touch sensitive touch-pad is a tad more responsive, and support users compatibility. The newly launched phone comprises of a 3.5 mm headphone, a feature that is cherished by most of the users. Blackberry Bold 9700 comprises of a “next generation” processor of 624 MHz, certainly an exquisite feature that has literally shaped up the phone as a better version of its predecessor. Browsing and messaging will now be a much faster process as the phone is powered by Blackberry OS 5.0, a feature that is also included in another recently introduced phone, Blackberry Storm 2. The smart-phone will also support Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth.
Priced at $199.99, Blackberry Bold 9700 looks like an upgraded version of Blackberry Bold 9000, but certain newly introduced features have shaped up the phone as an exquisite one. The phone also boasts a 3.2 megapixel camera, but according to what we are observing nowadays, such a resolution is pretty common in most of the phones.
To give a round up we would like to say that if you are looking for a business oriented phone that also supports commoners, then the phone is an apt one for you. The phone which is powered by Blackberry OS 5.0 definitely has some exquisite features which are available at an affordable rate. All in all a well equipped compact phone, Blackberry Bold 9700 is worth a try. For more information regarding the device. click here
