nokia-e72After making waves in the Europe, the new Nokia E72 is all set to make its debut in USA in December this year. Though the exact date of its US release is not known, the industry insiders think that it will be released in the first week of December. The E72 has been designed to counter the recent invasion of Android based smartphones released by Verizon wireless and Sprint. For the last few months, Nokia’s market share in business phones has diminished gradually. Increasing competition from BlackBerry and iPhone 3GS has prompted Nokia to revamp its existing line-up of smart phones. That is why the Finnish handset maker has worked hard in cramming lots of features in the E72.

The E72 runs on Nokia’s well known Symbian S60 OS. To ensure fast web access and download Nokia has made this phone complaint with 3G. Since the handset will be offered sans any contract with a carrier, its price would be on the upper side. The exact price is yet to be fixed but it is expected to be below $500. To compete with the Android based smartphones that have beefed up hardware, Nokia has wisely put in a 5MP auto focus camera in the E72. It also has a 3.5 mm jack.

Compared to its predecessor, the E71 this handset features a better keyboard. Apart from the external changes, Nokia has also revamped the internal components of the E72. It runs on a fast 600 MHz processor resulting in faster response time and multitasking. Even the in built software like the email client have been improved.
