It was only recently when the mobile service provider AT&T announced the launch of HTC Pure, thereby introducing its first Windows Mobile 6.5 smart-phone. The device which bears a striking resemblance with that of Diamond 2 has created quite a buzz in the tech world after its release. Hereby we will provide the pros and cons of this candy bar shaped compact device so that the users are provided with the features and applications of the newest device on the block.

Shipped along with Windows Mobile 6.5, HTC Pure comes up with a much better user interface unlike the other Windows Mobile phones, thus shaping up the smart-phone as a user friendly one. Other than that, the new improved mobile Web Browser backed up by more power provides better navigation. And there are various other useful applications that shapes up the smart phone as a “cool” one. But if you are looking for a smart-phone for browsing the web, then we would recommend to stick to the iPhone. But still the phone stands as a subtle balance for between business and entertainment purposes and provides you with certain features that you would like to flaunt.

While having a look at the design we would say that it is quite an ordinary one. But having said that we would also like to put the fact into your notice, that the device is a sleek and a user friendly and fits in your palms just perfectly. The easy to carry phone comprises of a WVGA touchscreen display. The crystal clear display mode of the phone with the proper contrast of color and clarity shapes up the phone as a treat for the eye. HTC Pure also boasts an in built accelerator which enable the phone to automatically shift the screen display from portrait to that of a landscape as soon as you rotate the phone. The newly introduced device HTC Pure also comprises of an easy to use QUERTY keyboard. Although Pure is quite okay when used to check e mails and fast e mail replies, but those who are into heavy mailing would definitely opt for a physical keyboard. The most disappointing factor is that the smart-phone doesn’t comprise of a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a feature that most of the users would have liked.

While going through the user interface, we have found the smart-phone to be an user friendly one. The device apparently uses the TouchFlo 3D user interface, providing a bright and clear picture. The Pure is provided with a 5 megapixel camera, much similar to that of Diamond 2. Although HTC Pure is fine in its own way, the flaws are quite observable when it is compared with that of an iPhone. The keyboard is quite sluggish when compared to that HTC Hero and lacks the bigger display that Verizon HTC Imagio offers.

The only saving grace is the relatively cheap price of the smart-phone. Priced at $149, HTC Pure offers you relatively decent features which includes speaker phone, speed dial, smart dialing etc. But we personally feel that iPhone would provide you with a wide array of features and option.
