A 4Inch Phone Has A Higher Resolution Than Some Netbooks And Also The iPad!

When you hear resolutions like 102×768, you think of your average netbook screens, even the iPad. Apple’s latest product category has that resolution on a 9.7inch screen and you think to yourself that that is not half bad. But what if I told you right now that there is a phone that has such a resolution that it actually exceeds that resolution? Well, there is such a phone. Its screen measures only 4inch and its native resolution is 1280×1024. Yes, it is time to sit up and take notice.

This is the Qisda QCM-330. Qisda is the company that many of your will know as BenQ. This 4inch phone actually packs in more pixels than an average  10inch netbook or the newly announced Apple iPad that has a 9.7inch screen. I will leave it to you to calculate the density in PPI (pixel per inch). Hint: it is very high. I wonder if our vision is this high resolution.

Well, there is a problem with the resolution though – it does not fit the screen it is supposed to be on. It is a normal form factor phone and hence it should’ve been something much wider. However, nothing can be said about it before it is released.

The phone will come with the usual bells and whistles — HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, front facing camera etc. It is is expected to be first seen in person at the the CeBit trade show that is scheduled to take place this March. It will apparently be available on Vodafone and might run Android, from the looks of it.
