Verizon has recently become exceedingly bad at keeping things under a wrap. With the Droid 2 leaking left and right, there’s no doubt that the phone is coming really soon. The Droid 2 has been leaking really badly of late and not it is time for something new — a mobile WiFi hotspot that supports both CDMA and GSM networks. Moreover, there seems to be a 4G LTE SIM card out in the wild. More on the other side.

So here’s how things stand, Verizon is getting a lot of new stuff on their line up this year and they start coming as soon as next month apparently. The Droid 2 is expected to launch by August with rumors of two new Blackberries coming up in the holiday season.

There’s also a rumor about a 10.1inch Android slate but there’s confusion regarding what it is or from whom it is coming. There’s a possibility that this is the upcoming Blackberry tablet that is RIM’s latest attempt in recapturing a marketshare that is trending downwards at the moment thanks to iPhone and the Android phones.

In the meantime, there’s a chance that the newBlackberry Curve 3 and Storm 3 are on the cards for later release this year. More precisely, they are apparently being scheduled for a holiday release this year. The Curve 3 is possibly the 9300 that has been circulating of late and the Storm 3 is probably a version of the 9800 but it could also be a keyboard-less device. We’ll just have to wait and see.

In more news, Verizon’s 4G LTE seems to be coming closer to a public rollout as a 4G LTE SIM card from Verizon has been photographed and posted online. This snapshot seems to support some other signs that seem to point towards an imminent roll out. It will probably be a very small roll out the beginning but the speeds that this service promises will make it a very sought after service indeed. The SIM itself looks nothing special. It is a the standard SIM that has been in use in GSM covered areas for decades. Most CDMA phone users however are not used to using SIMs, so it will be somewhat new to existing Verizon customers in the US. As for the credibility of the shot, it looks genuine enough and the source has multiple shots of the twin sides and close-ups.

The mobile HotSpot story also originates from a Verizon branded device being shot and put up on the internet for the world to scrutinize. Taking off from where Sprint’s MiFi left the world, this is a Global mobile WiFi hotspot device that has support for both CDMA and GSM. This sounds like something Verizon would do because they are already carrying dual-mode phones that are geared towards those who have to roam around the globe and frequently move in and out of various networks.

This device from Verizon is called ‘FiveSpot’ and it might be because this device can connect to five different WiFi devices simultaneously, along with supporting dual network standards. There are no details as to when this will hit but the expectation is that it will happen soon. There’s a definite market for this device as more and more people get out of their and into cafes and parks to get their work done. That includes the blogger who is writing this story, sitting in a cafeteria.
