Canon PowerShot A2100IS: A Feature Rich Digital Camera Aimed At Enthusiasts

Over the last few years their price has taken a nosedive and the users are literally spoilt for choice as far as buying a cheap camera is concerned. However, these cameras are good only for taking pictures in well lit areas and daylight. Most of them have 3x optical zoom which is not ideal for shooting distant scenes or people. For people who want a compact camera that offers high end features generally seen in the SLRs Canon has some excellent models.

One such model is the PowerShot A 2100IS. Launched as the successor to the hugely popular A2000IS, this model boasts of some impressive specifications and stellar performance. It does not look much different from its predecessor but a look at the specifications reveal the difference. It is obvious that for the A series of PowerShot cameras Canon has deliberately avoided sleek and stylish designs. The model is reasonable lightweight if not ultra portable.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1: It Will Take a Beating and Pictures Too

lumix-dmc-ts1The Lumix DMC-TS1 is the first shockproof and waterproof point and shoot digital camera from Panasonic. It has been really well received and while it has fewer features than its competitors, it certainly makes up for it in its looks and performance. Designed to survive falls from heights of up to 5 feet and drowning into water up to 10 feet deep, this camera actually does not look anything like a rugged camera. It is actually quite good looking. Plus it has great it has some great features like a wide-angle lens and HD video capture.

However, it does have its issues with the picture quality, which is not very sharp. You will also have to pay the premium for the rugged body. So is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS1 worth buying? Continue to the other side to find out.
