You what I like about the recent years when it comes to home entertainment? NVIDIA Ion! That’s right, the combination of Intel’s Atom an NVIDIA’s ION is the perfect combination that gives you extremely low prices and pretty high performance. And things just got better too, thanks to NVIDIA finally getting around to making the ION 2 official. We are already seeing the ION 2 pop up on several devices and here we have something that should please anyone who is looking for a slim, stylish (relatively), quite and powerful rig to use as an HTPC. This is the Shuttle X325, a slim nettop that looks a good thing in the making.

For a long time now, actually ever since Apple released the latest iMacs, the largest of the crop have been plagued by display issues. There were flickers and there were tinting issues where displays simply started look like they have Jaundice. Apple of course was tight-lipped about the whole thing and a lot of speculations were flying around. But now it seems like the company is confident enough to issue one of its rare public statements that admit to a fault.

Display problems on the new 27″ iMacs have been plaguing Apple ever since the first wave of orders were shipped. Some of the displays turn a yellowish tint, some of the them flicker and some apparently are plagued by both. Apple did ship a software update that was supposed to fix the problem but it did not fix the problems for everybody, especially the yellow tint that is possibly a manufacturing defect. Now Apple has another update out that has cured the problem for most people except a handful of people who are still complaining. And if certain news sources are to be believed, help is not coming any time soon.

Last year when Apple received a lot of enthusiastic buyers for their 27″ iMac models, it soon disappointed them with the discovery of a serious problem in the displays of the 27inch iMac displays. The display has a flickering issue which was put down to Flash at that point. Apple acknowledged the problem at that ponint and issued a fix that was to cure this. However, that did not work and the problem persists. Now for some more bad news.

Apple is probably one of most watched companies in the current tech industry. After taking the mobile phone industry completely by storm and making another iTunes (Music) Store success story out of it, the bystanders and the competitors have become wiser now — Apple is definitely up to something. A lot of things in fact, if all the rumors are to be believed. But since they can’t all be believed, here’s your distilled dose of what 2010 is expected to be like for Apple.
Apple’s secrecy is legendary by now. They are so good that other companies should probably learn from them. Thanks to this obsessive need for secrecy, we hardly know anything about what Apple has got cooking in their labs. So we subsist on sifting through rumors. This of course generates unimaginable hype for Apple but they are a company that has perfected the art of under-promising and over-delivering. From profit projections to devices, they do it every time. So we are always in a dilemma about how much to stretch our imagination.
I will try to keep mine on a tight leash for the following list and give you the things that I think Apple is really about to do.

Happy 2010 everybody! We are entering a new decade and of course it is time to bust out all the lists. This one is about Apple. This is one company that continues to make waves across multiple industries on a fairly regular basis. They have had their duds of course (hello, Apple TV) but their main products have constantly inspired the competition to rethink their plans and catch up. Sometime they just want to copy (Vista) but soon they realize that we are not a lot of 5 year-olds hence really put some effort in (Windows 7). Over all, Apple continues to stay ahead of the pack and make great products. So let’s look at all the great things that Apple has accomplished in the past decade.
