Here we are once again, with a round up of all that is hot in tech in the past few days. A lot has been happening as usual with the year end approaching. The anticipation for the new year is building with so many different companies readying their devices for launches through the first two quarters of 2010. Of course, not all of them are talking about it but the leaks do that work for them, whether they like it or not. So get over to the other side and get updated.

This is just something that is waiting to happen. I mean take a look around you — everything is about convergence these days. It’s about fitting in as much as possible into something as small as possible. True that that approach hasn’t worked too well for companies and manufacturers in the past but now technology has finally started catching up to the ideas that designers have had for a long time. This is why it can be said with a fair amount of certainty that the future of this world’s tech is going to be about that one gadget that does it all for you. Forget about carrying all those little things and one-trick wonders. You are about to step into the future and there will be just one piece of über gizmo that you are going to need.

We halt the usual phone round up to bring you a collective update about everything that we know so far about the Nexus One phone plus some. The Nexus One is Google’s latest mega project and people have go so far as to call it the new iPhone. Whilst I won’t to go so far, especially because the latest iPhone update is coming up soon, I do think that this is going to be the definitive Android phone that will rule the first year of the new decade. Get to the other side and get updated.

Looks like the Android devs have been really busy of late. And they have also probably thickened in their ranks. How else would you explain the fact that the Android Markertplace now has over 20,000 Android apps? That too after having only half that amount only 5 months back.
Actually, this growth spurt is no coincidence. Android itself has seen massive market penetration and has spread far and wide during these last few months. This means that the Android is being used by more people on more handsets than ever before. This in turn translates into more profits for developers who want to make money off selling apps.

It certainly does look like it. The tablet is slowly but surely making its way into almost every device segment there is. And once goes through a few products cycles, it will become the most coveted thing on the market.
The tablet is actually more common than we think it is. A tablet can be loosely defined as a mobile computing device that uses the screen and only the screen to interact with the user. If this definition is applied on daily devices, we are already using tablets in our daily lives. Think of touchscreen terminals at ATMs and other places. Think of touchscreen operated devices.

HTC has successfully completed its transformation from a company that makes handsets for others to rebrand to a company that is known for simply making great handsets. Over the past one year or so, HTC handsets have really impressed the mass market.
Their knack for making really great software and hardware combos have won them many a fan in the past one year. With the launch of the HD2, they have proved that they can hold their own against the big players like Apple, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and also Nokia.
